Belle Isle Clean Ups

Keep Belle Isle Beautiful Clean UpKeep Belle Isle Beautiful – One Paddle At A Time

In our part to Keep Belle Isle Beautiful, Riverside Kayak Connection is partnering with the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Belle Isle Conservancy to coordinate Detroit River and Canal Clean Ups on Belle Isle Park.  We know many of our paddling friends love Belle Isle as much as we do and also want to help keep our waterways clean.  This is a great opportunity to get together with other paddlers and make a difference.

Bella Isle Clean Up Details

Riverside Kayak Connection will have 20 kayaks and canoes available for all Clean Ups except for Saturday, May 19, 2018.  Preregistration is required.  We also encourage paddlers with the their own kayaks or canoes to bring them.

As part of National River Day, Saturday, May 19th will be the Detroit River Belle Isle Park Clean Up.
We are asking experienced paddlers with their own kayak, appropriate for the Detroit River, to join us in cleaning trash from the shoreline of Belle Isle.  There will also be opportunities for land volunteers that can assist with items not reachable by kayak and to collect larger items from the kayakers.

Equipment: Gloves, trash bags and pickers provided.  Please come prepared to get wet.

Life jackets will be provided and will be required to be worn while on the water.

Belle Isle:  A State of Michigan Recreation Passport is required to enter Belle Isle Park.
