This class focuses on breaking down the kayak roll. Start with controlling the kayak with your body by using your hips, knees and core. Then add sweeping the paddle to achieve a roll.
This class will cover self rescue and group rescue techniques, beyond the Scramble Self Rescue and the T-Rescue. The class may include: Re-entry and Roll, Toggle Rescue, Cold Water Rescues, Haul Up, Leg Up, Eskimo Bow Rescue, and Eskimo Paddle Rescue.
If you already know basic sweep turns and draws to the side, this class combines different strokes to efficiently and beautifully turn and maneuver your kayak on the go
We have instructors with the American Canoe Association Adaptive Paddling Endorsement. They work with groups including Special Olympics, Special Tree, and Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation. Private lessons are available.

This American Canoe Association Assessment Course is designed to evaluate a participant’s ability to perform all of the skills listed along with demonstrating an appropriate level of knowledge. This assessment course provides the participant with the opportunity to receive documentation of having achieved a certain level of paddling ability.
Our four-day comprehensive workshop combines the ACA Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) with the Instructor Certification Exam (ICE) a perfect course for experienced kayakers who are interested in advancing their skills to become an ACA-certified instructor.
American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 3 Coastal Kayak Instructor is the entry level for instructing in the coastal environment. During the IDW portion you receive the training necessary to effectively and efficiently teach sea kayaking. This includes classroom sessions on how people learn, on teaching methods and effective feedback
The ICE is an opportunity for each candidate to demonstrate his/her proficiency in the presentation (logical progression) and demonstration (proper modeling) of the skills necessary for certification as well as display overall paddlesport knowledge.
