Donation Requests

Riverside Kayak Connection and RKC Adventures are happy to assist area non-profit organizations with their fundraising efforts. We typically donate one voucher for four people to rent solo kayaks or solo bicycles for one hour at Belle Isle Park for Monday – Friday rentals, $40.00 value.

Due to the large number of requests we receive each week, we ask that organizations meet the requirements below and follow the correct procedures to maximize the support we can provide to our community. Please be aware, we cannot guarantee every donation request will be met even if your organization meets our requirements.

We seek to support those causes which effect positive change, specifically organizations committed to promoting environmental sustainability, youth organizations, and health causes.  Although we donate to a wide range of charitable organizations, preference will be given to those organizations most closely aligned with our mission for charitable giving.

  • Non-profit organization that has 501(c)(3) designation.
  • Organization must be located within Michigan.

Our Long Term Charitable Programs:

  • Friends of the Detroit River Riverkeeper Dinner — The Detroit Riverkeeper Program is central to the mission of the Friends of the Detroit River (FDR), and the Riverkeeper Dinner each spring is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of FDR and the Riverkeeper Program. We have been blessed by the generous support of the Wyandotte Boat Club, which opens up their facility for our fundraising dinner each year. The event includes a delicious buffet dinner, a silent auction, and an informational presentation. It is the primary fundraiser for the Riverkeeper Program, and is a great networking event, with many of our members and friends in attendance.
  •
  • Grosse Ile Rowing Club Annual Spring Dinner/Auction Fundraiser – The Grosse Ile Rowing Club was formed in 1989 to provide financial support to the Grosse Ile High School rowing team.  We provide assistance to the crew by purchasing rowing equipment and providing funds that allow the crew to travel and compete at local, regional, national and international regattas.  As we only receive limited funds from the Grosse Ile Township school district, our fundraising efforts are necessary to support the crew. Each spring the Grosse Ile Rowing Club holds an annual dinner and auction.
  •
  • International Wildlife Refuge Alliance Annual Benefit Dinner –  Established in 2006, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance (IWRA) is the Friends Organization for the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge (DRIWR).  We are an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mission and purposes of the DRIWR, the only international refuge in North America. (Learn more about the Refuge.) We work with partnerships to protect, conserve, and manage the Refuge’s wildlife and habitats; to create exceptional conservation, recreational, and educational experiences; and to develop the next generation of conservation stewards. We provide many vital services to the Refuge, such as community outreach, education programs, habitat restoration, special events support, volunteer staff, advocacy and fundraising.  IWRA holds an Annual Benefit Dinner to support DRIWR.
