Want to see if kayaking is right for you? Come get your feet wet at this class. Learn basic kayaking skills including the wet exit, forward and reverse strokes, getting in and out of a kayak from shore, and an introduction on how to get back in a kayak in the water. While this class is designed for the beginner, anyone who has never had formal instruction will benefit from this session. Come prepared to have fun and get wet. Students should bring water clothing and shoes, nose plugs, a towel, and a change of clothing. All kayaking gear will be provided. We will request your approximate height and weight to insure we have the proper gear for you. Class size is limited; our classes are kept small with a maximum student/instructor ratio of 5:1.
We recommend quick-drying clothes; board shorts or capris work great. Wear water shoes or sandals that are securely fastened to your feet. Nose plugs are also recommended, Riverside Kayak Connection suggests Smiley or Tweaker nose plugs designed for kayaking.
