Riverside Kayak Connection has partnered with the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute Friendraising Program. Through the entire paddling season, we will be "Paddling for Pink". A percentage of "Paddle for Pink" tours will go to breast cancer research. The "Paddle for Pink" tours will be on the last Friday of June, July, and August. Watch for additional details about these tours and other fundraising opportunities. We hope to see you in your "pink" and paddling for a great cause.

RKC Paddle for Pink Raffle

Riverside Kayak Connection will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes. Tickets are $5.00 a piece and will be available at the shop, with Team RKC members, and at various events during the 2009 paddling season. The drawing will take place on Monday, October 12th, 2009 in recognition of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Paddle for Pink with Beaumont Hospital!
Sunday, October 4, 2009 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Kensington Metro Park, Maple Beach

Whether you are an avid kayaker or a newbie, this is the event for you! The Beaumont Radiation Oncology Department and Riverside Kayak Connection LLC have teamed up to raise money for breast cancer awareness. Please join us for a fun filled day on the water. There will also be family-oriented activities at the Farm Center including Pick-a-Pumpkin, hayrides and a food concession. Later, let members of the Integrative Medicine Department help you relax with a chair massage.

Riverside will provide a kayak tour guide, lifejacket and a paddle - and, of course, the kayak! Tickets for the event are $30 and include 40 minutes of kayaking, and entry into a drawing for an opportunity to win a KAYAK, along with other great prizes. Please note that there is a $4 admission fee for the park, pay at the entrance.

Children 10 and older may kayak alone, with a guardian adult on the water. Children under 10 may kayak with an adult. No one under the age of 6 may be in a kayak.

Since we had to cancel our last scheduled Demo Day on October 4th, this is a great opportunity to test out some boats! If you have a particular boat in mind that you want to try, give us a call and we will have it there for you.

Team RKC has spent this past paddling season raising money for the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and are proud to present the organization with our donation.

the Paddle for Pink Raffle Drawing! Lions, Tigers and Beers is proud to support the cause by donating 10% of each bill between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
